Fat Law's Farm, Inc. is located on the Leeward side of the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. Tim Law and his family immigrated to Hawaii from Laos and started farming several years later in 1986.
He remembers when he arrived from Laos and how hard it was for him to get established. He did not speak English and knew only a handful of people in Hawaii.
Today Fat Law's Farm, Inc. is one of Hawaii's main producers and suppliers of fresh herbs and vegetables. The title "King of Basil" has been bestowed upon the farm because their operation accounts for over 80% of all basil exports from Hawaii. FAT in Chinese means good fortune or prosperity but it is also an acronym for Frank, Alice and Tim who have worked hard to grow, market and export fresh Hawaiian herbs to the mainland United States and Canada.
They are also involved and committed to working with the farming community and they promote a positive image of business at its best. |
